基于国产申威处理器气象预测WRF应用性能优化方法

RESEARCH ON PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION OF WRF MODE ON DOMESTIC SUNWAY PROCESSOR

  • 摘要: 当前国产各处理器平台上的气象预报WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting)应用存在着不同程度的效率问题。以国产申威处理器平台为例,分析WRF应用的资源占用情况和热点函数,从不同维度对其进行优化,并在申威四路服务器上测试验证,实验结果表明,优化后计算性能较优化前提升4倍,实时性明显改善。进一步分析表明,此类优化方法对同类型平台上的其他科学和数值计算性能问题具有重要参考意义。

     

    Abstract: The current weather forecasting (WRF) applications on various domestic processor platforms have varying degrees of efficiency problems. In this paper, we took the domestic Sunway processor platform as an example, and analyzed the resource occupation and hotspot functions of the WRF application, optimized it from different dimensions, and validated it on the Sunway 128 core server. The experimental results show that the optimized computation time is four times higher than before the optimization, and the real-time performance is significantly improved. Further analysis indicates that such optimization methods are important references for other scientific and numerical computing performance problems on the same type of platform.
