AN EARTH-SYSTEM DATA PLATFORM ORIENTED TO METEOROLOGICAL APPLICATIONS

  • With the explosive growth of multi-layer, multi-scale, and multi-source heterogeneous data in the Earth system, existing meteorological big data cloud platforms face bottlenecks in data exchange, processing, storage, services, and artificial intelligence support capabilities, making it difficult to meet the needs of digital and intelligent transformation in meteorological services. To address these issues, this paper proposes an overall design scheme for a meteorological application-oriented Earth system data platform (CMAEDaaS). It elaborated on the key technical system of the platform, including Earth system data aggregation and processing, massive data storage, data sharing services, and cloud-native technology for modularizing business software components. It systematically introduced the overall architecture, functional modules and business process design of CMAEDaaS; the performance of the platform in terms of data processing efficiency, service response speed and business support capability meets the application requirements through deployment and operation verification. The system achievements have been applied to meteorological applications to realize the management and service of Earth system data resources.
